I am a 42-year old husband and father. I was an avid computer gamer and DOF, F-stops and the like were foreign to me until my wife introduced me to photography.

I began shooting during the latter part of March 2010 and quickly became addicted to it. I started this blog to share my journey and to learn along the way. Special thanks to my wife Eng who encouraged me and to all my friends in Blogosphere who shared their knowledge and taught me to further this craft.

I love this, especially the way the prow of the boat seems to be bearing right down on the viewer.

The colours speak about the glorious days, sunk in the past...

Wow Dave, fabulous! Your angle is great, and the colors lend themselves to old pirating days!

Mojo

Spectacular composition. It almost looks as though the boat is trying to fight its way free of the chains.

Rinkly Rimes

A really powerful image and the colour is so rich that it enhances it.

Dave, this picture is soooo cool. This would be a beautiful photo to print on canvas and hang on the wall! Your work is excellent, a gamer turned photographer... who would have thought! :D Maybe I should convince my guy (who is an avid gamer) to turn to photography too :)

Such an intriguing picture … full of mystery with promise of adventure for the “stranded”.

Very artsy, the feeling of isolation is complete. Perhaps a little more work to enhance the desolation factor?

Love this, looks like a painting :) And there is something about the shape of the boat that reminds me of Markus Pierson's "Wind of Change"
