I am a 42-year old husband and father. I was an avid computer gamer and DOF, F-stops and the like were foreign to me until my wife introduced me to photography.

I began shooting during the latter part of March 2010 and quickly became addicted to it. I started this blog to share my journey and to learn along the way. Special thanks to my wife Eng who encouraged me and to all my friends in Blogosphere who shared their knowledge and taught me to further this craft.

Lovely one, liked the after one a lot more. Saw the staling at Morecambe, near Lancaster.

~either way...a beautiful bird you have captured...so vivid you made the wings...warm wishes and brightest blessings~

i just typed a looooonnnnn commment and lost the darn thing. here goes again.
i did the back and forth back and forth about 20 times and I can't decide which i like better. they are both beautiful. i like the light in the edit and the colors but i love the fence in the background on the other. humm both get good grades from me.

Very nicely processed, and a cracking crisp shot too!

The edited one really brings out the colours and textures - but I quite like the framing of that fence.

Awesome job Dave! I love the detail and color in the edited version. Beautiful.

Awesome, good work Dave!
What a difference!

What a striking effect, very nice :)

An eye-catching result! I'm still trying to pluck up courage to change html for mouseovers! You do it so well.

What a gorgeous shot that is. Superb

T. Becque

Once again fantastic. I'm stil trying to figure out how to remove larger portions in a photo (like your fence). Nice work.

A lovely bird and photo! And of course the bird is best when it is free, without the net! Nice work! :)

nice work you have done here! love the photo

lovely vivid colors in the edited one..
think I would have left the fence though.. but then I like fence's..
really great processing..

What a beauty. Love your edit. Dave your so good at this.

how did you do that! you are so clever, I think you should come to Australia and teach me

It's brilliant! You don't miss the details - the shadows, for example... I like the change of feathering - the effect is shocking.

Very magical ~ a disappearing fence!

The clarity is incredible.

Nice work Dave. The image is good even before processing. Going away for a week catch up when I get back. Kev
