I am a 42-year old husband and father. I was an avid computer gamer and DOF, F-stops and the like were foreign to me until my wife introduced me to photography. I began shooting during the latter part of March 2010 and quickly became addicted to it. I started this blog to share my journey and to learn along the way. Special thanks to my wife Eng who encouraged me and to all my friends in Blogosphere who shared their knowledge and taught me to further this craft. |

from my archive, this is one of my first splash shots and this was taken in my early days of photography, that was when i haven't discovered RAW yet.

Dave, this is a great photo with action and perfect focus. Thanks for your list of equipment in your sidebar. I have a Nikon D70s and looking for a second. Now I will know where to come...

This is magnificent shot.
I think you are having a ton of fun - so happy for you - and us - cuz we get to enjoy your shots! This is great!
Love this shot! (Kim Klassen does a free Photoshop course)
PS But don't think you need it (re wish list)
Great shot. It almost looks like abstract art.
it certainly does not look like you were just learning to me. it is magnificent, you got the whole splash, it looks like it might spill out of the screen onto my desk. i have never been able to get a shot anywhere near this good.
Ah quenching!
I've been trying to figure out what it is you dropped into the glass. Love that single loose drop floating above the rest of the water. Nice work again.
how could a novice photograph this well? you certainly are a raw talent from the get go. great job. someday you would have to teach me.
