The "composition" of this photograph was influenced by previous comments made by Scott and Mojo. Thanks guys!
my entry to My World Tuesday.

I am a 42-year old husband and father. I was an avid computer gamer and DOF, F-stops and the like were foreign to me until my wife introduced me to photography. I began shooting during the latter part of March 2010 and quickly became addicted to it. I started this blog to share my journey and to learn along the way. Special thanks to my wife Eng who encouraged me and to all my friends in Blogosphere who shared their knowledge and taught me to further this craft. |

A pretty forbidding (a very dramatic) sky! I like how the vanishing point accentuates the narrowness of the street. Gives everything a "close" feeling. And (of course) I'm partial to the "distance" created by the long foreground. It works especially well with the street being empty up to the red car. (That couldn't have been easy to arrange!)
I'm curious, did you use HDR processing on this? I haven't experimented much with that.
Mojo said it, very dramatic... and beautiful!
What a fantastic capture, Dave! Such a dramatic, grumpy looking sky and I love your composition! Such a lovely street! Have a great week!

I love your photography. I have to learn to do HDR.

Stunning HDR, Dave!! And the composition - perfect!!
Beautiful and dramatic, I love the colours and the dark clouds....
A very dramatic photo...there is so much to see here! And what a ominous black cloud that is looming overhead! My eyes are bouncing all over this picture...to the twin blue doors, the coach street lights, the clouds, the great character in these building, the street & that threatening sky! Just fantastic!
Oh how dramatic the sky is :)
It looks like a scenery from a film :)

Wot Mojo sed!
Great pic, very dramatic! Very British street scene.
Oh, you are so good at this! I, too, really like the open foreground before the parked red car and then the curve creates the vanishing point. The color is glorious and that sky...drama!
Superb!
Love Triangle
This is beautiful. The colors are so rich and full and yet in some places quite subdued. Very artistic and pleasant to look at.
Wow the drama of the clouds contrasts greatly with the mundane street and colourful doors of the houses. Coronation Street never looked this good!
superb shot and so English!
Someday will you give us a tutorial on how you create clouds like that? Absolutely stunning!
wow..is this real??? it is awesome.. great shot.. i thought it was a painting..
It looks like a scene from a movie!
Nicely done! I can only echo the comments above... the colors, composition and balance are striking.
I loved this HDR, the clouds are terrific!! :)
