I converted this to B&W but the wife over ruled me on this one, so to keep the peace here it is in full colour.

I am a 42-year old husband and father. I was an avid computer gamer and DOF, F-stops and the like were foreign to me until my wife introduced me to photography. I began shooting during the latter part of March 2010 and quickly became addicted to it. I started this blog to share my journey and to learn along the way. Wow I love this photo Dave..very nice! Maybe you should have post it in both colour and in B&W. I really like it in colour but I think it would have looked good B&W as well. I would love to explore & see what lies beyond the path!

Sometimes wives just know best! I'm a fan of color myself and this is a beautiful piece.
I'd have to see the b&w to be sure, but I think in this case your wife wins - the vibrancy and richness of the color is a stronger visual pull than the lines would be in the monochrome.
