this was taken by my 6 year old daughter with her Casio Exilim EX-Z1000 on one of our photo walks. From time to time I will be posting some of her photos here and I will call it Ysabelle's series.

I am a 42-year old husband and father. I was an avid computer gamer and DOF, F-stops and the like were foreign to me until my wife introduced me to photography. Children of this age tend to find subjects that adults wouldn't think about.
I was at an exhibition just last night that featured the work of photographers aged 5-14. And I use the term in the strictest sense, these are photographers -- they just happen to be very young. This shot could easily have been on that wall.
I got my first camera (a Kodak Instamatic 104) when I was six. What I didn't have was a forum, a venue for the work I was doing at the time. (Nor did my parents usually understand "why I took a picture of that".)
I applaud your support of your daughter's art. She has quite an eye already, and with the right nurturing and guidance she will go very far -- as a professional if she chooses, or simply as an artist.
