I am a 42-year old husband and father. I was an avid computer gamer and DOF, F-stops and the like were foreign to me until my wife introduced me to photography.

I began shooting during the latter part of March 2010 and quickly became addicted to it. I started this blog to share my journey and to learn along the way. Special thanks to my wife Eng who encouraged me and to all my friends in Blogosphere who shared their knowledge and taught me to further this craft.

what lies ahead?

I converted this to B&W but the wife over ruled me on this one, so to keep the peace here it is in full colour.

Wow I love this photo Dave..very nice! Maybe you should have post it in both colour and in B&W. I really like it in colour but I think it would have looked good B&W as well. I would love to explore & see what lies beyond the path!

A home far away

Wow what a great photo!

I would love to walk around the place!

Ha ha, always please the wife, yeah. And I think b&w wouldn't do this picture justice. The colours are amazing

Sometimes wives just know best! I'm a fan of color myself and this is a beautiful piece.

I'd have to see the b&w to be sure, but I think in this case your wife wins - the vibrancy and richness of the color is a stronger visual pull than the lines would be in the monochrome.

Thanks so much for voting again!

I've entered a major international photo competition (details are on my blog) and would be most grateful if you'd click through and rate my portfolio (just click on the stars at the bottom (preferably the 5th star - "fantastic" - LOL), easy peasy, no registration or personal details needed). Thanks so much!

As a well-established lover of B&W, I can see why you would have gone in that direction. But I think it would be hard to go wrong either way with this one.

I do like the color - You are a good husband. My husband doesn't like when I do anything funky like those inversions. I don't listen. I just smile and nod.

Women are always right! ;-)

It's luminous - pointing to better times.

Gorgeous!
