I am a 42-year old husband and father. I was an avid computer gamer and DOF, F-stops and the like were foreign to me until my wife introduced me to photography.

I began shooting during the latter part of March 2010 and quickly became addicted to it. I started this blog to share my journey and to learn along the way. Special thanks to my wife Eng who encouraged me and to all my friends in Blogosphere who shared their knowledge and taught me to further this craft.

Applause! I admire your family. This is such a nice hobby. I am one of the fans of your wifey in photography and she did inspired me to do crazy things to achieve some masterpieces... like the 2nd photo from the top. Your little girl started early so i will not be surprise to see her own photoblog soonest. Keep it up. The family that shoots together... stays together... or something to that effect. hahahaha

I think it's wonderful how you share the same hobby :D Beautiful warm photos!

Kathy

Thanks for introducing us to your family! I wish you could teach me basic curves and I have no idea what the rule of thirds is!

Smart move on your part ~ from games to photog!

Kathy

Thanks Dave. I now vagulely remember the rule of thirds from a photography course I took in college 45 years ago. I think I may have been using a Kodak Brownie (and you will have to find that one in an antique store!). Also Rebecca of the Dusty Cellar has given me some great info on curves in the Picnik program. Hope you and your family get off some great shots this weekend.

How wonderful, I love how photography is a whole-family holiday - you all get to have fun, no one is left out, and no one is complaining loudly about the number of times you stop for a photo. Not that I'd know anything about that of course. Sigh...

How nice that the three of you share one and the same passion! This passion will always connect you. It's unbelievable that you've managed to overcome the computer games and to replace them with something really valuable!:-)In my family we share the love towards theatre, though noone knows what our son's Choice in life would be!

Annelie

Such a family you are! How wonderful to be able to share the same interest. You must have a lot of fun together!
I just think it's a shame that you live so far away, I think it had been an honor to meet your lovely family!♥♥♥
Hugs from me...

Very, very cool! I do the same with my son (6 years old) and husband. Although, it's so hot right now that they haven't been as willing lately!

Ah ya!!!! why restrict her creative expression by telling her the rules? I didn't know until I join a meme. I just click away. LOL

Mojo

Having seen some of Ysabelle's work before I can tell you're teaching her well! She's already a talent and with the right encouragement and training she will go far.

LadyNoor

Awesome!

When you finish teaching your daughter, can she then teach me to understand at least half the things you've just said? Lol!
