I am a 42-year old husband and father. I was an avid computer gamer and DOF, F-stops and the like were foreign to me until my wife introduced me to photography. I began shooting during the latter part of March 2010 and quickly became addicted to it. I started this blog to share my journey and to learn along the way. Special thanks to my wife Eng who encouraged me and to all my friends in Blogosphere who shared their knowledge and taught me to further this craft. |

Incredible - I'm in awe.
Dave this is really wonderful. I love the blur. really nice shot! Your macros are always great :)
Amazing macro again! I can almost feel the bumps and ridges in the shell when I touch the screen.
Hang in there little guy!
very very nice, great depth of field!
Awesome!
Amazing, amazing and amazing.
Great clarity and shallow DoF.
2nd snail macro I came across to day. Yours has a bit more detail, but the other was enhanced by water droplets... have a blessed weekend!
It is fascinating to me how you can take a slimy thing and turn it into something pretty.
Hi Dave, it´s really cute actually.....
stunning shot, the details are definitely amazing.
Wow, you have made that slug look like a star, beautiful image!
If you have the time to stop by, my post is right here,
I know you'll have something spectacular to see! Love the snail (as long as he isn't eating my veggies!)
very very special
Beautiful shell on this guy (I collect seashells, but I've been known to pick up a pretty - EMPTY! - snail shell now and then).

Beautiful, dreamy image.
your shot makes it possible to really appreciate the beauty of his shell
and the soft blurry framing is so lovely

Re: I used a lens filter called star-filter x8. It "breaks" the light 8 times. I love it.

I think that I have a bit of work to do before I can even come close to getting as good images as you do. My lighting leaves a lot to be desired!
What an artful macro. It's magnificent!
My goodness. I've taken a number of snail portraits, but none as dramatic as that.
Great shot Dave!
I've always loved snails - now I know why! This is just amazing.
