I am a 42-year old husband and father. I was an avid computer gamer and DOF, F-stops and the like were foreign to me until my wife introduced me to photography.

I began shooting during the latter part of March 2010 and quickly became addicted to it. I started this blog to share my journey and to learn along the way. Special thanks to my wife Eng who encouraged me and to all my friends in Blogosphere who shared their knowledge and taught me to further this craft.

I think "STUNNING" is the right word.

I tried to type "Bingo!" but my fingers lost control. I think it's a matter of pinkmentation.

Bla, bla, bla, pretty, pretty, pretty, bla, bla, bla. Duh! :-) Well done Dave. Love the bokeh & soft colors/background.

Light tent? Mine was just a sheet draped over a card table or something like that with another sheet under & behind for a seamless background, if I wanted white. Took a lot of searching in second hand stores to get the sheets for a good price as wife would not let me use the one off the bed. :-) (Not true, we have plaid sheets. Not usable.) Good light was had either outdoors (hard to do in any wind) or with a flash on either side. I had real cheap garage sale flash with $5 optical trigger. Worked great. Trick was to learn how to turn off pre-flash on camera for optical trigger to work and to block or diffuse camera flash so it would not ruin shot. (Cut up milk jug diffuser mounted in hot shoe & blocked flash!)

that applies here

I really like all your photoes! This is gorgeous!

Wow! This is exquisite, stunning, gorgeous, and all of the other adjectives used in previous comments. The colors and light are almost perfect. ("Almost" because perfect might ruin it.)

Poetic Shutterbug

Extraordinary shot. Although I have captured these same flowers, they were nothing as incredible as this one.
