I am a 42-year old husband and father. I was an avid computer gamer and DOF, F-stops and the like were foreign to me until my wife introduced me to photography.

I began shooting during the latter part of March 2010 and quickly became addicted to it. I started this blog to share my journey and to learn along the way. Special thanks to my wife Eng who encouraged me and to all my friends in Blogosphere who shared their knowledge and taught me to further this craft.

This is a great shot, but since you pointed out the other one I have to tell you I like it a little better. No break up of the car tail lights and closer on the store. But I like them both.

Cheryl Kohan

I really like them both, too, and envy your talent at night photography.

I don't do night photos very well, yet. Am going to a camera class tonight, though, so maybe I'll learn something!

Great motion blur. I think I actually like this one better. The lines of the tail lights are broken but it feels more balanced.

They're both terrific captures, Dave, as always! I, too, love them both, but like the earlier one just a bit more. The closer look at the building and curve of the lights are fascinating! Hope you have a great week!

Night photography is always tricky but it has a lovely artistic slant with the trailing light against the deepest blue sky.

you keep getting better and better every week.

They're both beautiful, Dave. Each has something to recommend it, but I must admit I like seeing this adorable building closer up, so I'm very glad you directed our attention to the other one.
Keep up the good work. You are very talented.

both are extremely nice.. think I like the second one better.. like the closeness of the building and the light stream in the other photo..
